2012: The ReCap

2012 was here and gone is a blink of an eye, at least that is how it felt for me.

I was unable to come home for the holidays, so I spent my first Thanksgiving and Christmas away from my family, not my favorite way to spend the holidays in the least but it was bound to happen. I was however home in early January for a friends wedding, for about 6 days. Flying from LA to FL on a red-eye New Years Eve. I landed at 6:30AM went to breakfast with my parents and was working at the ranch by 8AM. I just can't help myself when it comes to Bar B, it's home. I had an absolute wonderful trip home and was sad to leave Florida behind once again.

I didn't have much time miss home though, in February/March I started getting buried behind boxes and boxes of merchandise.I slowly made my way through, trying to organize my death trap of a back/storage room. By the time April comes around and I am oh so ready to start the season.

In April I was able to make the trip home for one of my best friends weddings where I was proud and honored to be a bridesmaid! Melissa Chang-Arce, whom I can no longer call 'Chang' and her wonderful husband Alonso are coming up on their one year anniversary. It was such a beautiful service and I consider myself very lucky to have them in my life.

My first day with Drover, May 2012

The season flies by with only a few highlights I care to share. In May I adopted a handsome dog Drover, he is a Australian Cattle Dog mixed with a Pointer. I got him from the Humane Society out here. Many of you have seen him from my several Facebook posts. He is such a kind, sweet loving dog! I am so happy to have him and I thoroughly enjoy the time that I spend with him. We often go to dog parks where he romps and plays, as well as the Sparks Marina because he loves to swim. I look forward to bringing him to South Florida[when money isn't an object(so never, haha) or when I move back home]. He is a source of relaxation and comfort in my life.

DISCLOSURE: There is a good chance that I will be even worse when I ever have a child, you can ask to be removed from e-mails anytime. :)

The 2012 baseball season was exciting to say the least the Reno Aces won the Pacific Coast League Championship, and went on the beat the International League Champions, Pawtucket Red Sox, to be crowned the 2012 Triple A National Champions (click on the link to watch the win). Which is extremely exciting for our organization, Arizona Diamondbacks, our Major League Affiliate had a 81-81 season but I hope that they will be able to capitalize on their minor league teams having such success. Seeing as three of there farm teams made it to the post season.

In 2013 we are starting our 5th season, many fans are excited about that, coming down from our National Championship, as well as hosting the 2013 Triple A All Star Game. It is a lot of extra work but I feel up for the challenge.

I haven't even touched on my family's trip out to see me in October. Until next time...
